Episode 3: Tou Yia Xiong - Forth Eorlingas
This week I talked to Tou Yia, one of the newer members of the Fellowship and realized that he had been part of the group all along. We talked about his career as a toy designer, his longing for community, his deep connection to art through his father (the story of his parents and family as depicted in his Senior Project Animation below), and among other things, how important it is to show up when the beacons are lit.
“Vauj” (pronounced “vow”) is a 2D animation about a Hmong boy reminiscing about flying kites with his father. He remembers how their kites danced in the wind and soared through the clear blue sky, as well as the moment that changed the course of his future.
